Afrodiziac

An outsider on the journey to rock music

AfroDiziac, born as the son of Brazilian immigrants in Halifax, Nova Scotia, is no stranger to the label of "outsider." Growing up without a sense of home and constantly moving from place to place, a cultural conflict began to arise. However, out of the struggles of his immigrant working-class family emerged his fearless attitude towards dreaming big. He trusted in his strengths, and his music and life's work are a testament to his courage.

AfroDiziac's signature sound, which he calls "Sonic Fingerprint," is an explosive mix of psychedelic rock, grunge, and jamming, with a heavy emphasis on his guitar skills

After moving to Manhattan and then Stockholm just before the pandemic hit, AfroDiziac quickly began working on his debut album. With the help of Stefan Glaumann and Svante Forsbäck (Backyard Babies, Volbeat, Rammstein), and Ulf Ivarsson (Bill Laswell, Thåström), "Vanity Affair" was recorded in 2020. However, the pandemic, lockdowns, and his move to Berlin delayed the release of his first single, "Riot," until November 2022.

His music conveys the anger, dignity, and courage of an outsider who has learned to embrace his unique perspective. He never seems out of date in his power trio lineup and rocks across generations, captivating all who witness his fiery performances.
